I Am Still Writing This Blog
Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few months, but I will still update and write when important PSU football news crosses my desk.
As you can imagine and probably know, late spring through the summer is dead in terms of college football news. However, during the summer I will post my fall preview, roster analysis, and different things that are related to the Nittany Lions. Keep checking periodically and as soon as I find PSU news, you'll be the first to know. Thanks for reading.

We Are...NIT Champs
Sorry this story is a few days late.
Last Thursday, the Nittany Lions defeated the Baylor Bears at MSG, 69-63, to win the NIT championship.
The Lions capitalized in the second half, breaking the lead Baylor had gained in the first half.
Jamelle Cornley, the tournament's MVP, led the Lions to victory scoring 18 points and chasing every loose ball on the floor.
The Nittany Lions were spurred early in the second half by the "We are..." chant led by none other than Joe Paterno, who was sitting about four rows behind the team's bench.

Lions Earn Spot in NIT Championship Game
Tonight, the Penn State Nittany Lions will face off against the Baylor Bears, to claim the NIT championship.
On Tuesday, the Lions socked it to Notre Dame in the semi finals, winning by seven points. The Lions' defense went out early and completely shut down the Irish offense in the first half of play. In the second half, Notre Dame rebounded and closed the wide scoring gap, but the aggressive and prolific Lions outlasted whatever comeback the Irish tried to launch.
As for Baylor, I'm not sure about their strengths and weaknesses or how they play on the court. For that matter, I don't closely follow Penn State basketball or general college basketball, except around March Madness time.
If the Lions continue to dominate defensively and be aggressive on offense, they should be able to have a good run against Baylor. The game will be broadcast on ESPN beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Lions Make NIT Run
Tonight, the Nittany Lions' men's basketball team will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the NIT tournament, for a chance to play in the tournament's championship game.
The Lions basketball team has really turned around the last few years, from going to having no basketball reputation, save John Amaechi, to making a run in the NIT.
While the Lions should have made the big dance, a place in the NIT championship is as prestigious and the men should be proud of all the hard work they put in these last seasons.
Tipoff is at 9:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN 2.

I'm Back!
Well it has been a while, but I am back on the horse and have started paying attention to this blog again. Part of the problem is, not much is happening in the way of football in the dead of winter, but it's spring and we have a lot to look forward to.
The next few weeks will be important ones for the Lions. Spring practice will be starting up, the NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and the Blue White Game will be here before you know it. I'm planning on writing a spring preview in the next week and will continue to expand my coverage.
In preparation for the season, I am asking you to tell your friends about the PSU FAN BLOG. Talk about the great coverage, send them your favorite posts, or mention it while talking about the Lions. 2008 was the best year ever for this blog and it can only get better. Thanks for reading.
